Jenny Pox wins an 'Indie' from Red Adept -- #1 Horror Novel of 2010

Somehow, Jenny Pox squeaked past books from top horror authors Jack Kilborn and Willie Meikle to win #1 in indie horrorRed Adept is known for being a tough, honest reviewer and a big supporter of indie authors.  This award completely caught me by surprise!

Kilborn is also J.A. Konrath, whose blog is a must-read for indie authors.  Meikle describes himself as a writer of "pulp" science fiction and horror, and what's cooler than that?

2 out of 5 Bewitched Bookworms agree: Jenny Pox makes the 'Best Of' 2010 list(s)!

The Bewitched Bookworms have included me in two of their 'Best of 2010' lists.  See these posts by One Pushy Fox and Heather.  Heather calls Jenny Pox "the best book by an Indie that I read this year," while Pushy laments seeing Sarah Palin rather than Jenny Pox on the NY Times bestseller list.

This makes the fifth or sixth time I've been featured on Bewitched Bookworms this year.  I'm going to have to designate Pushy Fox and Heather the official "#1 Fan of Jenny Pox." Of course, it's an award they'll have to share.  I hope it doesn't lead to a rough custody battle.

I don't have a fancy bronze statuette to give them, but I will send each of them an autographed paperback of Jenny Pox, when I get more paperbacks in a few weeks.

My Blood Approves: a blog on my day off

My Blood Approves: a blog on my day off: "I'm on vacation right now. I'm counting this as a 'pleasure' blog and not a 'work' blog. And also I'm bragging. Why am I bragging you ask? B..."

The above blog post is by Amanda Hocking, who not only writes great paranormal novels, but is an incredibly cool and generous person. I'm still blushing after reading it...

"The Long Night" - A spaceship crew is taking a few hundred million tons of radioactive waste away from civilized space. But there's another kind of evil inside the cargo bay, and it wants out.
