New cover for Jenny Pox, and preview of the Tommy Nightmare cover..

I can't say enough about how happy I am with the job Phatpuppy Art did with the new covers!

For the new Jenny Pox cover, we used the same model & setting as the old cover, but a different picture, and Phatpuppy did amazing things with the color, lighting and other elements of the image.  Here's the new look for Jenny:

Tommy Nightmare, the sequel, will be available in April.  Here's a preview of how that book will look:

These are a big improvement over all my other book covers.  What do you think?

UPDATE: I also added Tommy Nightmare to Goodreads in case you want to add it to your to-read list. Thanks!

Haunted E-book Tour: "Lesser-Known Ghosts of the Upper Midwest" at Amanda Hocking's place

Since my wife & Amanda are both from the Wisconsin/Minnesota area, I had a lot of fun putting together today's post about some not-so-famous ghosts that may haunt the Upper Midwest (for all I know).

Your comment today enters you to win a triple paperback giveaway as well as the blog tour Grand Prizes, including a Kindle.

Thanks for playing along!

A major Jenny Pox sequel update...

I'm just letting you know that the sequel to Jenny Pox is substantially complete, though it will still be in the editing process for several weeks.  (Scott Nicholson is also going to edit the book.) I'm at the "line editing" stage now, to be followed by the "proofing" stage and then the "uploading" stage.  And then the "hoping people like it" stage.

I want to thank all the readers who let me know they were excited to read a sequel.  As it turns out, the story I developed grew so involved that I decided it would be best to create a trilogy. I think that anyone who enjoyed the first book will greatly enjoy the second book, and I'm very excited by how Jenny's story is unfolding.

I'm now announcing the release date for the second Jenny Pox: "April."

The third Jenny Pox book has a tentative release date of "the fall."

That's it for today.  I'll put up the cover and the "soundtrack" playlist (an idea I'm copying from Amanda Hocking) as they become available, so check back for more updates.

The title of the second book is Tommy Nightmare.

Five Reasons Jenny Pox Makes a Great Valentine's Day Gift

Looking for an extra last-minute something for Valentine's Day?  Consider gifting a copy of Jenny Pox.  Here's why:

1. Low price - just $2.99.
2. Convenient - Buy it on Amazon and gift it directly to your beloved's Kindle. (If necessary, run and pick up a Kindle at Staples first.  Those make good gifts, too!)
3. Jenny Pox is a story about finding love in a dark and wicked world--you know, like the one where we live.
4. Buying Jenny Pox is a compliment to your lady friend, because as the Bewitched Bookworms with all their Ph.D's have proved, smart girls love Jenny Pox.
5. There's only a couple months left to read it before the sequel comes out!  And she'll enjoy the anticipation of waiting for the sequel.  You wouldn't want to deny her that, would you?

Author John Hartness Reviews Jenny Pox - Rare Chance to Read a Southern Man's Perspective!

Jenny Pox has received some great reviews from women around the world, from England and Germany to Australia and Malaysia.

Now John Hartness, an award-winning poet who grew up in rural South Carolina, gives his views on Jenny Pox, both as a horror novel and as a depiction of life in the Deep South.

John's book The Chosen, a story of bikers, whiskey and archangels, has been on my TBR list for a while. You might try it out and tell me what you think!

Autumn at TBR Pile compares Ashleigh Goodling to Dolores Umbridge! I feel happy.

OK, this review of Jenny Pox is like two months old now, but I ran across it today.  Having a reader compare anything I wrote to master storyteller JK Rowling is just incredibly cool and smile-inducing!

I'm making a note to send her a review copy of the Jenny Pox sequel...
