Now in paperback: Alexander and Fairy Metal Thunder

If you were interested, you can now pick up paperback copies of Alexander Death and Fairy Metal Thunder.  Why limit yourself to just reading the books, when you can also use them as home decorations?

Thanks! I'm going back to sleep now.

Also, Courtney Cole, author of Every Last Kiss and other books in the Bloodstone Saga, interviews me on her blog for My Indie Idol.

This announcement would be a great thing to share on Twitter or Facebook...and look, there's a row of little buttons at the bottom left side of the post to make that easy!  Thanks!

The first blogger reviews of Fairy Metal Thunder...and more

So, this was a surprisingly busy day.  Fairy Metal Thunder got its first reviews, from Aeicha at Word Spelunking and from Kristi at The Book Faery (appropriately enough!):

Jessi from Reading in the Corner, who is a host for The Paranormals Blog Tour in October, wrote nice things about Jenny Pox:

Are you Team Seth or Team Alexander?

The Bookish Brunette has a "My Book Boyfriend" post about Alexander Death.

As you remember, Jenny had a choice of two guys by the end of Tommy Nightmare.  Ashley at Bookish Brunette has now created badges for each 'team.'  Find them on her post! (I'll bring them over here later, you'll have to go there to see them first!)

Fairy Metal Thunder: Book Launch, Cover Reveal, and Paperback Giveaway!

Fairy Metal Thunder enters the world today with a launch event hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader.  See the cover, learn about the new series, and enter to win a Fairy Metal Thunder paperback!

For now, you can grab a copy for just 99 cents on Amazon, Nook and Smashwords. Horror author Rhiannon Frater reviews Jenny Pox!

I'm very excited to tell you that Rhiannon Frater, whose books include the As The World Dies trilogy (newly released by Tor in July) and the vampire books Pretty When She Dies and The Tale of the Vampire Bride, read Jenny Pox and wrote an amazing review of it. Check it out on her blog: Zombies, Vampires and Texans!   It's so surprising and humbling to get a great review like that from such a fantastic horror writer!  Thanks, Rhiannon!

Why I'm Losing My Mind...

So, I have two new novels coming out next week. On Monday, there's the launch of Fairy Metal Thunder, which begins a new series. On Friday (Sept. 23), we'll launch Alexander Death, the final Jenny Pox book.

Look, just two sentences. But I have a ton of things to do for the double book launch next week. There are 19 items on my to-do list, little things like "format ebooks" and "write guest blog." I actually get tired just reading it over. Once the books are out, then I can relax and write a bunch of blog tour posts and really get the second fairy book going. (Seriously, the most relaxing thing I do is try to figure out why the baby's crying--food? Diaper? Burping? Walk you around? Need entertainment? How about some music?)

At this point, I just hope I haven't driven my editors and proofreaders crazy. And I hope readers like these new books. And I can't wait until the weekend after next, when I finally get to sleep!

Alexander Death: New release day, and a giveaway update

UPDATED: The release date for Alexander Death, the final book in The Paranormals trilogy, has moved up to Friday, September 23.  (If you haven't read Jenny Pox or Tommy Nightmare yet, the links on your left will take you to them!)

To give us something to do in September, I'm offering a giveaway of three advance 'beta' copies of Alexander Death.  These will be given out on Sunday, September 18th!

You can enter below:

CONTEST HAS ENDED - Thanks to everyone who entered!

In other news: The Dark Tomorrows collection has just gotten a serious upgrade, with contributions from six additional authors.  Also, I've finished Fairy Metal Thunder, the first book in my new series (which will be YA paranormal, OK for all ages, and it looks like it will be five books long), so I'll be putting out details on that over the next few weeks. Watch for a big post on The Unread Reader on Monday, September 19th.

Good luck!

Announcing Fairy Metal Thunder: New Book, New Series

While we wait for Alexander, I wanted to tell you some things about my next new book, Fairy Metal Thunder, which will begin a new series called Songs of Magic.

Through a series of unforeseen circumstances, Fairy Metal Thunder might end up being released before Alexander Death (in which case, I'd have two new books coming out this month).

We will do a full cover & book description reveal over on The Unread Reader on Monday, September 19, and I'll offer a paperback giveaway of the book at that time.  Many thanks to Missie for hosting this event!  Although the way things are going, that could end up being a book launch announcement, too.

Here are some fun facts about Fairy Metal Thunder and the Songs of Magic series:

-They will be YA paranormals, appropriate for all ages.

-Vicki Keire is editing these books (and she's so fast and thorough!).

-They will involve fairies and rock & roll.

-While I originally thought of the series as a trilogy, it looks like there will be four or five books instead.

-You can already add the book on Goodreads.

-I will tell you more later.

Happy Friday!

Dark Tomorrows, Second Edition released! And Jenny Pox news

I've massively upgraded my short story collection Dark Tomorrows into a second edition.  It still contains the original stories by me and by Amanda Hocking, but now includes stories from six top indie authors of paranormal and horror.  There are 'drabbles' from Mike Crane (master of the short-short-short horror story), the complete Day of Sacrifice novella by S.W. Benefiel, and excellent contributions from Joel Arnold, Robert Duperre, Vicki Keire, and Daniel Pyle.

The ebook is only 99 cents on Kindle and Nook, and it's free on Smashwords!

You can also buy it in paperback for $6.99 on Amazon .

Jenny Pox-related news: There's a new review of the first book from Jennie over at My Cute Bookshelf:

Also, Ashley at Bookish Brunette picked Jenny Pox for a 'Crowned Review,' which is a new feature for books that she feels deserve more than five stars (er, stilettos). She gives the honor to Jonathan Maberry, Rhiannon Frater, and this guy (points to self with two thumbs). The award looks like this (click to read more):

Thanks, Ashley, Jennie, and also to all the authors who contributed to Dark Tomorrows.  Today's post actually feels a little bit newsy!  A little bit.

And the winner of the Jenny Pox paperback is...

...chosen by random.org, which picked:

@chanibear!

I guess I'll contact her by Twitter in a little while. Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone who helped out!  Jenny Pox is still only 99 cents on Kindle and Nook for now.

And you can still enter to win one of the first three (advance ebook) copies of Alexander Death.

Paperback giveaway completed - Jenny Pox 99 cents on Kindle and Nook

Thanks to everyone who participating in tweeting the special sale this weekend! I'll pick the paperback winner tonight (more accurately, random.org will do the picking).

Someone pointed out that I hadn't put Jenny Pox for sale on Nook, something I forgot to do. I've lowered it now. Since there was such a great response to the Kindle sale, I'm going to keep Jenny Pox at 99 cents on both Kindle and Nook for a little while.

Thanks so much for all your help!

Labor Day Weekend: Jenny Pox for 99 cents & paperback giveaway!

In solidarity with the Indie Book Blowout event, Jenny Pox is on sale for 99 cents on Kindle for Labor Day weekend.

This would be a good time to try Jenny Pox or let people know about it. Thanks!

Also, paperback giveaway: one random person who tweets "Labor Day Weekend: Jenny Pox by @jlbryanbooks for 99 cents & paperback giveaway! http://t.co/DFlStte" between now and Monday will win a paperback of Jenny Pox. So, that's pretty cool, huh?

Also, my wife reminds me that two years ago today, 9/2/2009, was the day I finished writing Jenny Pox. So it's kind of a birthday thing, too.

Thanks!
