Jenny Plague-Bringer: Playlist and Update

I like to do playlists for many of my books.  Typically, this is a blend of music I played while writing the book, as well as songs that represent specific scenes or characters to me.  This is the playlist I put together while writing Jenny Plague-Bringer:

Jenny Plague-Bringer is now available for Kindle!

We're still waiting for it to appear on Nook, Apple, Sony, etc., but if you would like an ePub version right away, you can now get it on Smashwords!

Thanks so much, and I'll give more updates when they're available!

Guest post from Daniel Arenson: Epic Fantasy Music

Today, I'm having Daniel Arenson over for a guest blog to celebrate the release of A Dawn of Dragonfire, the first book in his new Dragonlore series.  This is Daniel's second series about dragons, making him officially "The Dragon Guy" around here.  Check out the book cover:

And now for Daniel's post...

Epic Fantasy Music

Epic fantasy. It's known for its novels, films, and artwork. But what about music? While epic fantasy isn't a musical genre, there's definitely music out there that just sounds like epic fantasy. Here are some pieces of music that, to me, are perfect for reading, writing, or just feeling epic fantasy.

1) Nightwish Every song by Nightwish, a Finnish symphonic metal band, sounds like an epic fantasy novel's soundtrack.
Example: Slaying the Dreamer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKxAPQXR7iU

2) Lord of the Rings soundtracks by Howard Shore.
Of course this makes the list.
Example: Anduril.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOOY1qrRsOI

3) Rhapsody of Fire
Campy, over-the-top fantasy metal. To seal the deal, some of their tracks feature Christopher Lee (Saruman from Lord of the Rings). Hard to get more epic fantasy than that.
Example: Unholy Warcry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEMeBTmiX4g

4) Dio Dio can make even rainbows sound epic.
Example: Rainbow in the Dark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQzNBTukO0w

5) Uriah Heep's Demons and Wizards album
In 1972, Uriah Heep were among the first bands to sing about fantasy elements.
Example: The Wizard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq8nQOhZ3u8

6) Mozart's Requiem.
There are countless versions out there, many on Youtube alone.
Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPlhKP0nZII

7) Requiem for a Tower Featured in the trailer for The Two Towers.
Can makes almost anything in life -- from folding laundry to watering the plants -- feel epic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEOolYYe60k

8) Blind Guardian Another band whose music features fantasy themes.
Example: Nightfall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pENi46W2rA

9) Led Zeppelin
Fans of Tolkien, Led Zeppelin referenced The Lord of the Rings in several of their songs.
Example: Battle of Nevermore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHJH0ETi8D4

10) Two Steps From Hell
The masters of epic music.

Happy Birthday to Jenny Pox – and a major Jenny Pox announcement!

Today is the second anniversary of the publication of Jenny Pox! And that makes it a great day to announce that there will be a fourth Jenny Pox book, something I wasn’t expecting. It will be out this fall...details to follow in the near future!

Each post on today's hop focuses on one of the six paranormal characters from the series. I picked Esmeralda for my blog...

Who is Esmeralda?

Esmeralda Medina Rios was born with a paranormal touch enabling her to "speak" with the dead, or at least experience their memories from life.  When she's a small girl, her mother makes her do this for money, finding out secrets about the dead for their relatives or others who knew them.

Esmeralda quits that line of work while still a child, claiming she's lost the power.  As she grows older, she trains as a mortuary cosmetician, preferring the peaceful world of the dead to that of the living.  But the other paranormals aren't going to let her have a simple life...

If you haven’t seen it, here’s the Jenny Pox trailer!

The Jenny Pox ebook is currently free on Amazon, Smashwords, Apple, Sony, and Kobo, and cheap on Nook!

Giveaway! To celebrate Jenny’s birthday, and this exciting new announcement, we’re offering a giveaway of a full set of Jenny Pox, Tommy Nightmare, and Alexander Death, autographed and inscribed to the winner!

How to enter: A comment on each blog on the hop counts as an entry, so you can enter up to six times! Here are all the blog hosts and the paranormal characters they’re featuring:

FAQs
Q. What if I want to enter the picture contest thingy but don't want to send a picture of my face?
A. That's OK!  You can wear a Halloween mask or other disguise, or you can use your book or Kindle to block most of your face, something like that!

That's what's happening!  If you love Jenny Pox, you can show it by grabbing the button code for your blog!  Thanks, and Happy Independence Day (for those of you in the U.S.)!  Let's blow some stuff up!
